Well, I am super excited to be kicking off the blog tour for her newest release The Heir & The Enchantress. We are finally getting to see Hazel’s story. You might remember we have seen Hazel in her role as mother in The Baron & The Enchantress. Now, we get to rewind time and see her as a young lady maneuvering the difficulties of being a woman in the mid 1700’s. If you haven’t read the previous books in the series, don’t worry. This…

    The Villainous Viscount

Hello fellow readers! Do you like to dabble in the supernatural? Does the thought of a Gothic novel leave you swooning like a virginal maiden? Are dark cobweb filled hidden staircases the very lure you in? The Villainous Viscount is a tale to excite your senses and leave chills down your spine! I found this to be a great example of a new Gothic novel told in a traditional way. It took me a bit of time to connect with the hero but I can see that the author was keeping him to a more traditional type of rake. It takes a while to redeem himself but I think the…

    Flirtation and Folly

A timeless story of self-realization while learning to navigate the shrewd world of polite society. Flirtation and Folly is a story that we can all identify with at some point in our life. Having dreams that you are made for more. Wanting to fit in with the “cool” kids. Wishing you were something other than what you are. No matter your history, we can all identify with Marianne. If you read this for a romance, it might leave you wanting a bit more. There is a touch of romance but it was much less than I was expecting. However, as a story of self awaking it uniquely shows Marinanne’s transformation…

    The Gentleman And The Thief

Welcome back, book friends! I have had to look at the calendar three times today to confirm it is indeed November. I’m not sure how we got here, but I do know there are more fantastic books releasing that we need to talk about. Today I’m very excited to be featuring The Gentleman And The Thief. If you are looking to breathe a little fresh air into your historical fiction reading -this book will do it! Included in the story are alternating chapters of two penny dreadfuls. Is there anything better than stories inside a story? I think not (ok, maybe letters are a tie). A standalone novel in The…

    The Light at Wyndcliff

Welcome back for another review! I’m so excited about this release, so let’s jump right into the review. I found Sarah Ladd’s newest book to be a breath of fresh air in the world of historical romance. Secrets, mysterious lights in the dark, and family division create so much more than a simple love story. The Light at Wyndcliff, while a romance at heart, simultaneously explores the timeless issue of family loyalty. I was hooked into this story from the first few pages. I found both the hero and heroine to be likable characters that were easy to sympathize with. Both find themselves in unique situations – Liam has inherited…

    Misleading A Duke

Misleading A Duke Spotlight I was positively thrilled to have to chance to be apart of another A. S. Fenichel blog tour. The Wallflowers of West Lane is becoming one of my favorite series as it masterfully walks a fine line being real-life issues and a fantastic happily ever after. There is still life after a tragedy. ( Trigger warning -these books handle some adult issues, such as rape and torture, without being graphic) Title: MISLEADING A DUKEAuthor: A.S. FenichelPublisher: Kensington/Lyrical PressPages: 304Genre: Historical Romance BOOK BLURB: Finishing school failed to turn them into proper society ladies. Now these four friends vow to remain single until they find suitors worthy…

Here are quick reviews of a couple of my favorites from the last few weeks. Heartbreakingly beautiful, A Wilful Misunderstanding is a reminder that love is never easy but true love is always worth fighting for. The Bachelor Duke

Move over Mr. Darcy, there is a new moody man in town! Who can resist a man who thinks he doesn’t want to marry? Remington Warren is everything you want in a romantic hero. Grumpy, moody, resistant to love -falling in love with the heroine at first sight. Typically I’m not a fan of love-at-first-sight tropes, but Cecilia does a great job showing character growth that makes it seem believable. I really enjoyed this debut novel written by Cecilia Rene. If there was ever a heroine I could identify with, it is Lady Olivia St. John. She loves to read and eat sweet. We are meant to be BFF’s! There…
