A Dash of Romance

With quills and fantasies, they write their future.

I have been all a flutter waiting for this book launch. If you are a regular follower, it is no surprise that I am excited for another book by Paullett Golden. I mean, I’m pretty much her biggest (self-appointed) fan. The thing that made me seriously excited about this one is that it is a lighthearted novella. Exactly what we all need right now! After the novella, there is a collection of short stories that are so very charming. Ok, I can gush on about it for ages, but how about I give you an introduction to A Dash of Romance by a visual tour and playlist. Take a moment to get to know the characters and then brew a cup of tea and get lost in the story.

Percival Randall lives an uncomplicated life of luxury, as he likes it. Not even an ultimatum requiring marriage can tip the scales. A conniving young lady who compromises his name to force a betrothal, however, is an impediment to happiness Percival must confront.

Abigail Walsley dreams of publishing novels rather than marrying dashing heroes. An unexpected proposal and a subsequent Banbury tale tumble her into a betrothal with a man she has never met. Following her dreams proves a challenge with a marriage of inconvenience on the horizon.

This is the love story of Percival and Abigail, two dreamers who write their love story one scene at a time.

From second chance romances to mistaken identities, experience A Dash of Romance in this collection of one short novel and fourteen bonus flash fiction pieces.

Musical Inspiration

I love finding a glimpse of a character that I love when I listen to a song. It just jumps out at me as if reminding me of an old friend. I created a playlist on Apple music inspired by Percy and Abbey that you can listen to here.

The play list is:

  1. Lovely. This song makes me think of Percy and Abbie leading separate lives not realizing that the independence that they crave is also leaving a wanting for more.
  2. Rise. This is Abbie’s anthem of strength. She will not bend to what is expected of her. She will create her own path in life… even if that path is still unclear.
  3. Heartbreak. This is Abbie’s song of longing. She won’t let herself fall into the ease of conformity, but she realizes that she might have to give up what her heart wants in order to have the life she envisions for herself.
  4. All Time Low. This is Percy’s song as he realizes his lot in life when it comes to his relationship with Abbie’s
  5. Death of a Bachelor. Simply put -Percy’s happy dance 🙂

Meet The Author

Melissa has been in love with books since she was a child. As a young girl, in her Holly Hobby decorated room, she would sit and tape scraps of paper to her books so that she could organize them by the Dewey Decimal System. She is a huge advocate for helping children learn to love reading. Along with hosting an online Regency based book club and a book club at her home, she started a book club for kids at her son’s school. These days, Melissa can be found at the library writing a book review or tucked in some quiet corner having a love affair with a newly discovered romance novel.
